Aid to Support Education, Sustainability and
Community

This September, Diamondport Jewellers is proud to support Stationery Aid and its mission to ensure every child has the tools they need to learn, grow and thrive.

On Friday 4 September 2026, Diamondport Jewellers CEO Ashley Portas will join
supporters, businesses and community leaders at the Stationery Aid Wear Fluoro 2026 Brisbane Fundraising Lunch, an afternoon dedicated to highlighting education equity, sustainability and the power of community.

As part of the event, Diamondport is donating a Circle of Life pendant to be featured as a raffle prize, giving guests the opportunity to take home a meaningful piece of jewellery while supporting an organisation making a tangible difference for Queensland students.

A Shared Belief in Giving Back

At first glance, a Brisbane jeweller and a charity focused on school stationery might seem like an unlikely partnership.

But for Diamondport, supporting Stationery Aid comes back to something much simpler: community matters.

Diamondport Jewellers was founded by Ashley Portas in 2010, with a focus on creating exceptional jewellery and meaningful experiences for its clients. Today, the Brisbane jeweller designs and handcrafts its jewellery locally, with a strong emphasis on quality, craftsmanship and creating pieces that can be treasured for generations.

Stationery Aid shares a similarly long-term view, but in a very different way. The Queensland-based charity works to ensure children aren’t held back at school simply because they don’t have access to basic educational resources.

Founded in 2020 by Alison and Jan Schutt, Stationery Aid began after they saw the enormous amount of usable stationery being discarded while students experiencing hardship were struggling to access essential school supplies.

Today, the organisation collects, sorts, cleans, renews and redistributes stationery to students, schools and families who need it.

It’s a simple idea with a significant impact: turning excess into opportunity.

 

The Wear Fluoro 2026 Brisbane Fundraising Lunch

The Wear Fluoro 2026 lunch is part of Stationery Aid’s broader fundraising efforts to support education equity and sustainability across Queensland.

Taking place at the ANFE Italian Club in Stafford from 12pm to 3pm, the event encourages guests to wear their brightest fluoro colours as they come together to support children who may otherwise start the school year without the supplies they need.

The theme, “Wear Fluoro Like a Highlighter,” is a fitting one. It is about shining a light on the issues that matter: education, opportunity, sustainability and community.

Fundraising is an important part of Stationery Aid’s work. Alongside donated supplies, fundraising helps the organisation provide items that are needed on school booklists and cover the costs involved in collecting and renewing donated stationery.

Diamondport’s Circle of Life Pendant

As part of Diamondport’s contribution to the event, the jeweller is donating a Circle of Life pendant necklace to the charity raffle.

The Circle of Life is a particularly fitting piece for an event centred around children, education and community.

Across cultures, the circle has long represented growth, strength, connection and new beginnings, ideas that closely reflect Stationery Aid’s mission.

Every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn and discover their potential. By providing something as fundamental as a pencil case, books or stationery, Stationery Aid helps remove one small but important barrier to education.

The pendant therefore represents more than jewellery. It is a reminder of the importance of investing in the next generation and giving people the foundations they need to flourish.

 

 

More Than Stationery

Stationery Aid’s work isn’t simply about collecting unwanted pens, books and school supplies.

Its broader vision is about creating a more sustainable and equitable future.

The organisation reports that more than 2,900 students have been supported, while more than 52 tonnes of stationery have been saved from landfill. It also has more than 35 collection points across Queensland, with around 80% of collected items reused, recycled or responsibly repurposed.

That circular approach is what makes Stationery Aid particularly relevant in today’s world. Rather than allowing usable resources to become waste, the organisation gives them a second life, and in the process, puts them into the hands of students who need them.

For Diamondport Jewellers, the partnership is an opportunity to contribute to a cause that is making a difference right here in Queensland.
